Cub Scouting is a character-building program for boys in the first through fifth grades that embraces the values of citizenship, compassion, cooperation, courage, faith, health and fitness, honesty, perseverance, positive attitude, resourcefulness, respect, and responsibility. Boys join Cub Scouting for excitement, to be with friends, and to have fun. While the boys are having fun and developing strong friendships, they also learn new things, discover and master useful skills, and gain self-confidence.

Founded in 1941, Pack 924 is affiliated with the Boy Scout's of America's Northeast Illinois Council and is chartered by Northminster Presbyterian Church in Evanston, Illinois.

Pack 924 traditionally has drawn its members from Lincolnwood Elementary School in Evanston. Boys from other area elementary schools and/or home-school programs, however, are always welcome to join Pack 924.

Pack 924 offers a year-round Scouting program, led by trained adult volunteers. Pack 924 endeavors to create a positive place for boys to express themselves and participate in a supportive, cooperative, and non-competitive environment.

The annual joining fee for membership in Pack 924 is $50.00, payable to Pack 924. The joining fee pays for each boy's Council registration fees, his annual subscription to Boy's Life magazine, all recognition and advancement awards, and the costs assoicated with many Pack-wide events such as the Pinewood Derby and Blue and Gold Banquet. There are no monthly dues. Pack 924 also provides each boy with the appropriate neckerchief and neckerchief slide for his uniform. Boys may join Pack 924 at any time during the year.

Pack 924 strongly believes that no boy should be denied the experience of Cub Scouting merely because of financial need and, accordingly, offers economic assistance to those who qualify.
